Arborvitae Arborvitae Leafminer Last chance to treat with registered pesticide if needed.
Birch Aphids Check for natural enemies before making treatment decision.
Catalpa Catalpa Aphid Inspect underside of leaves for green-yellow nymphs. Look for lacewing eggs, ladybugs, and other natural enemies.
Cherry White Prunicola Scale Treat before crawlers wax over.
Crabapple Green Peach Aphids Check for natural enemies before making treatment decision.
Dogwood Dogwood Borer Inspect trunk and large branches for holes and fresh sawdust. Destroyby hand or treat with nematodes.
Elm Elm Leaf Beetle Treat foliage when larvae or skeletonizing is detected. Trunk applications may kill migrating larvae.
Euonymus Euonymus Scale Treat before crawlers wax over
Evergreens Cottony Taxus Scale Look for white crawlers on underside of leaves or needles. Treat with registered pesticide if needed.
Hardwoods Cottony Maple Leaf Scale Look for white crawlers on underside of leaves. Treat with registered pesticide if needed.
Hemlock Hemlock Looper Shake branches, look for green inchworms dropping on silk threads.Treat with registered pesticide such as B.T. if needed.
Holly Cottony Camellia Scale Inspect foliage and stems for large, white, waxy scales
Juniper Juniper Scale Treat before crawlers wax over.
Linden Linden Bark Borer Examine trunk and branches for holes, reddish frass and small moths.Treat with registered pesticide if needed.
Mountainash Mountainash Sawfly Examine leaflets in shadiest areas for clusters of yellow-green larvae. Pick off or treat with registered pesticide if needed.
Oak Oak Sawflies Examine leaves for green, slug-like, larvae. Treat with registered pesticide if needed.
Pine (Soft) Introduced Pine Sawfly Inspect needles for grey-green larvae. Pick off or treat with registered pesticide if needed.
  White Pine Weevil Inspect leaders for flagging. Prune out infested leaders before they turn brown.
Rhododendron Rhododendron Borer Inspect large lower branches for holes and fresh sawdust. Destroy by hand or treat with nematodes.
Yew Black Vine Weevil Check burlap traps for adult weevils. Treat with registered pesticide if needed two weeks after first captures.
