Identification Notes:

life cycle - introduced perennial, reproducing by seed

stems - unbranched, viney in nature, climbing or sprawling growth habit 1, growth habit 2

leaves - opposite, ovate to broadly lanceolate, entire, somewhat shiny, petioled leaves

flowers - 5-petaled, dark pink to reddish purple, petals narrowly triangular; axillary clusters flowers

seedpods - green, long, slender, pointed, light brown when mature; seed flat with tuft of fine hairs seedpods 1, seedpods 2, mature seedpods
