Common Name: fleabane, poor-robin, robin-plantain
Scientific Name: Erigeron pulchellus Michx.
Family Name: Asteraceae (Compositae) - Aster or Sunflower Family

Identification Notes:

life cycle - native perennial, reproducing by seed and stoloniform rhizomes

stems - upright reproductive scapes, densely hairy, hollow growth habit, growth habit 2

leaves - basal leaves obovate to oblanceolate and toothed or slightly lobed; stem leaves alternate, small, lanceolate or oblanceolate, occasionally slightly toothed, bases clasping, all with soft hairs

flowers - heads of pale purple to pale pink (sometimes fading to white) rays (ligulate) florets surrounding a center of a yellow disk (tubulate) florets; solitary or in small clusters flowers
