Identification Notes:

life cycle - introduced perennial, reproducing by seed

stems - upright, very hairy (stellate and simple), leafy, milky sap growth habit 1, growth habit 2, growth habit 3, stem

leaves - alternate, broadly elliptic to lanceolate, margins strongly tooth, basal leaves petioled and present during flowering, stem leaves small and sessile leaves 1, leaves 2, leaves 3

flowers - heads of yellow ray (ligulate) florets; clusters terminal, round-topped, open flowers 1, flowers 2
