Identification Notes:

life cycle - native perennial small tree or shrub, reproducing by seed and colony-forming rhizomes

stems - upright, woody, dense velvety hairs stems

leaves - alternate, pinnately compound; leaflets 11 to 35, elliptic to lanceolate, serrated leaves 1, leaves 2

flowers - white; upright panicle, fruit red and velvety when mature mature flowers
