Common Name: narrowleaf goldenrod, grass-leaved goldenrod, lance-leaved goldenrod
Scientific Name: Solidago graminifolia (L.) Salis.
Family Name: Asteraceae (Compositae) - Aster or Sunflower Family

Identification Notes:

life cycle - perennial, reproducing by seed and rhizomes

stems - upright, much branched, smooth to pubescent

leaves - alternate, linear to narrowly lanceolate, 3 to 5 parallel veins, margins entire and rough, smooth above, fine pubescent below, lower leaves deciduous by flowering leaves

flowers - heads of golden yellow disk (tubulate) and ray (ligulate) florets; flat-topped corymb flower heads
