Identification Notes:

life cycle - native perennial, reproducing from seed

stems - upright, thick base, stout, nearly smooth growth habit 1, growth habit 2, growth habit 3, growth habit 4

leaves - alternate, oblanceolate, somewhat fleshy and waxy, entire, smooth or fine haired, sessile flowers

flowers - heads of yellow disk (tubulate) and ray (ligulate) florets; terminal panicles, very dense, often leafy
